In whitewater rafting terms, the Klickitat River is considered a "continuous" whitewater river for its nonstop speed and action. There are so many class III rapids on this 18.5 mile stretch or the Klickitat River that we don't even try to name them all. Fast moving water, lots of splashy fun and amazing basalt head walls coming straight out of the Klickitat river and towering over our heads up to 200 feet is something you will not forget. Since this is an all-day event everyone gets to enjoy a great meal on a sandy beach mid-way through your whitewater rafting adventure. With the Klickitat River being so close to our White Salmon headquarters, you will get to meet us on the White Salmon River where you can leave your vehicle secured at our headquarters while on your Klickitat River rafting adventure.
Flowing through a magnificent high desert canyon, you will be awe struck by basalt walls reaching two hundred feet, nearly straight up from the Klickitat river’s edge. Deep canyon rim-to-rim views that seem stretch on for an eternity. Cascading creeks falling to their destiny to become part of the powerful whitewater river. Towering Pine trees reaching for the sky as they have for generations. These are just some of the many postcard setting views you will be treated to on your journey into the past on the Klickitat River rafting adventure. Don't forget a camera!

If all of that wasn't enough, there is the white water. While most rivers have a name for each class III and above rapid, there is no sense in trying to name all of the exciting action on the Klickitat. Filled with class III+ and a few class IV rapids, they just keep coming and coming. Rapids per mile, this may be the best deal in the state. Perfect for beginners because it never gets too wild, and loved by veteran rafters for the endless action. This is the river for you.

Floating the Klickitat River through some small rapids
This is a very special river for me, in that it was my first commercial run at age 15 as I rowed a drift boat carrying the river gear for a group of fisherman searching the upper reaches for Steelhead in 1979. Each time I raft this river, I remember 1979's softness of the summer evening colors, the roar of the churning white water, and the $15 a day for sun up to sun down work . I loved it!
Day trips include a River side lunch from the "Class V Deli".
As with all of our trips, sales tax, state river fees, wet suites, transportation from out headquarters / retail center, and all equipment are included into the stated price.
