If you have ever wanted to know more about Portland whitewater, then you have come to the right place!

Whitewater Rafting Fun Fact #2: The White Salmon is the best commercial rafting river in the State of Washington. How can we make such a bold statement? It says so in the river book, Washington Whitewater. And, the author is correct. The White Salmon provides unmatched beauty as it flows through an ancient lava tube that’s roof has collapsed in. It is pretty spectacular to have lava cliffs going straight up on each side of the river with Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir and other various forest covering growing straight out of the lava rock. The White Salmon River has a steep gradient, perfect for creating whitewater as the fast water bounces off of the river-bed and the canyon walls. Combine all of this with hundreds of springs feed the White Salmon volume for year round rafting water and you can see why the White Salmon was declared the best commercial rafting spot in the state of Washington.

Our Customers say...

Just a note to say what an awesome whitewater run Zach Z took us on last Wednesday afternoon. The mini-raft was a BLAST and Zach was the BEST rafting guide ever!

Whitewater Rafting Fun Fact #3: The White Salmon has a twin river flowing through the city of Hood River, Oregon apply called the “Hood River”. Flowing North from Mt. Hood and flowing South from Mt. Adams are the Hood River and the White Salmon Rivers. Both enter the Columbia River in the center of the Columbia River Gorge almost exactly opposite of each other. To paint a picture in your mind, there are two enormous mountains (Mt Hood in Oregon and Mt Adams in Washington) about 60 miles apart with one huge valley connecting the two. The valley has two whitewater rafting rivers flowing towards each other and are separated only by the second largest river in the U.S. (the Columbia River) flowing through a sea level passage through the Cascade Mountains. Sound like a place you would like to visit? National Geographic named it the sixth most beautiful place to visit, but I think its #1.
