White Salmon
Upper Gorge

Trip Details

Rafting the White Salmon River on the Upper Gorge is the most exciting “commercial” whitewater in all of Oregon and Washington. Rather than putting you in the standard six-person rafts, we use our custom-designed “Mini Rafts” that hold a maximum of four guests each. The smaller the raft… the bigger the adventure. If all of that is not enough, we have the furthest upstream launch site of any company on the White Salmon River, let you jump off an amazing cliff into the river and we limit this high adventure run to no more than 20 guests at a time. This is truly a special and unique rafting adventure. To make your high adventure rafting trip complete, the finish line is Husum Falls. Those wishing the adventure of the Upper Gorge must be confident swimmers.

You’ll feel like you are whitewater rafting far from civilization but you’ll only be a few miles outside of Hood River, Oregon, White Salmon, Washington and just east of Portland, Oregon.

Words and photos cannot truly express the beauty of what you will see as you raft through an ancient lava tube lushly forested with cedar, pine, ferns, alder, and oaks with a multitude of springs coming out of the rock walls. You truly feel like you’ve entered a private little paradise on the White Salmon River. Columnar Basalt and Brachia walls tower on each side of you for long stretches of this magnificent canyon. No matter which of our White Salmon whitewater rafting adventures you choose, you will experience this beauty in nature.
