If you’re looking for a fun family activity in the PNW, look no further. The White Salmon River has something for everyone! Mom, Dad, Grandpa, AND your kids? I know that might seem impossible, but you could all come rafting and experience some White Salmon family fun, with Zollers Outdoor Odysseys.

The kids love it

This river is a collection of classes, difficulty, and adventure. We take kids of all ages down our beautiful river every single day. From your six-year-old who sits “princess seat” in the front. To your thirteen-year-old who just became strong enough to help paddle. This river is one that all the youngins can enjoy! Most kids under 10 usually can’t hold a paddle well, but they can sit and hang on for the ride. They get the easiest job! To enjoy the splashes and the scenery. Our kiddos are usually the most brave ones. Jumping off of our 15-foot cliff jump, or riding the bull through the biggest rapid on the river. The kids that go down the river with Zollers are greatly cared for and make the trip so special. 

Rivers have no age limit

Since kids can do it, anyone can do it, right? That may not always be true, but in this case, the answer is yes! We love taking people of all ages here at Zollers. Since our company is family-owned we love seeing other families coming to our river. Grandparents are always welcome on our rafts. If you can walk down our 100-something stairs… then you are more than capable of sitting in a raft and paddling for 8 miles! You can sit in the front and be in the ultimate splash zone, but that comes with more responsibility. Being up-front means everyone else is following the pace you set. If you don’t have the best rhythm you’d probably be better off sitting towards the back. That way you can follow along with the people in front of you. If paddling becomes too much you can sometimes slow your roll. But keeping the pace is what helps the whole boat have a fun and safe trip. A lot of people believe the guide does all of the work but the paddling power comes from… YOU! Everyone on the boat has a job and they need to take it seriously.

No one left behind

Now Mom and Dad I am sure you are thinking, “Wow taking my parents and my kids on one activity together, sounds crazy!”. You might have to be the leader of the pack, but besides that, it will be a real adventure. With mom and dad sitting up front, the paddling power is sure to be unmatched. But we all know grandma and grandpa will be in the back giving it their all. And of course, you do not have to worry about your kids. We will ensure they are safe and taken care of throughout the entire trip. Kids and grandparents are perfect to accompany you on our adventures and we love taking the whole family. No one needs to be left out.
